“I am very excited to join the Transcarent team and support our vision to empower each individual to make informed choices about their health and care and enable them to share in the financial value of those decisions,” said Dr. Dobro. “We are offering our Members a trusted, simple, seamless, and high value end-to-end healthcare journey. I’ve spent more than 25 years working to transform the delivery of care in the U.S. and now is the time to bring high-touch high-tech health decision support, and value-based care delivery services together in one integrated platform. Together with our employer partners, we can make significant strides in improving the quality, accessibility, and affordability of healthcare for millions of employees and their families.”

The Transcarent platform combines many of the commonly used healthcare services in one seamless mobile application that provides employees with guidance to better understand their choices in care and the associated costs of that care. Transcarent offers self-insured employers a risk-based model that fully aligns incentives allowing employees to trust that Transcarent will focus on quality first, provide clear and unbiased information and a full range of choices, and share the rewards from better decisions they make.

Transcarent acquired BridgeHealth in October 2020 as part of a $44 million Series A funding round led by 7wireVentures, Alta Partners, and General Catalyst. BridgeHealth is the leader in Center of Excellence and Appropriate Site of Care musculoskeletal surgical solutions for some of the nation’s largest and most innovative self-insured employers. BridgeHealth serves over 1 million Members with more than 150 Centers of Excellence and Ambulatory Surgery Centers, more than 300 pre-negotiated surgical bundles across eight surgical categories, and provides documented improvements in quality of care, resulting in 80% lower complications.
